in the photo on the right, only the stuff up top is good. the other stuff is scrap (+1 board cuz i oops and had to drive 1/2 back to get another) so the pile has subsided drastically. my tip-out trash door/cabinet is also down there for final cleaning and painting.

and to prevent having to go back again for another $30 board, I measure about 20 times trim a little, measure again, trim a little more, until it fits. my wife wants this done for xmas

She has b een asking how much longer since day #2. There have been various milestones along the way; flooring, bookshelves, island. This is closing in on 100%.

Yep. I took do wn a wall and put up a 20' beam. now i’m wrapping it with rough saw pine to give it a rustic look. I also have 4 posts to cover up as well. I have a whole beam done and 1.5 of the 4 posts.
